I was born to John and Bettie in 1965, surprisingly born again in 1986 at an F.C.A. College Advance, married the sweet and beautiful Kim Duncan in 1990 and we finally made it to Texas a decade later in 2000! Before Texas and Kerrville Bible Church, I spent four years at Tennessee Tech University (B.S. in Business Admin/Accounting in 1987), four years in CA at The Master’s Seminary (M.Div in 1994) and five years back in Tennessee as a bi-vocational Associate Pastor and Elder at Calvary Bible Church in Joelton, Tennessee.
Kim and I have three grown children, Caleb, Katie, and Carson. Caleb and his wife, Mary Catherine, live in Charlotte, NC where he’s a video director/producer for the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. They have two daughters, Hattie and Eliza, with a son on the way! Katie lives in Austin. Carson and his wife, Katee, live in Longview with our granddaughters, Austyn and Addie. Carson is a police officer with Kilgore PD.
Raising a family and serving KBC has been a little bit of everything, but thru thick and thin, great pain and great joy, God has proven Himself mighty, faithful, and exceedingly kind to us. “The name of the LORD is a strong tower.” We feel deeply loved and appreciated. I’m more encouraged than ever by what God is doing here and pray to be faithful and fruitful in this place until Jesus comes.
My interests include daily exercise, reading history, biographies, theology, books on preaching and watching way too much football and baseball and golf and … I love the Word, preaching, chocolate chip cookies with pecans, and perfect bacon.
