Where: Deer Creek Camp, Medina, Texas
When: Thursday, October 29, 6PM through Saturday, 12PM
Theme: Strengthened to Lead (1 Corinthians 16:13-14)
As men, God calls us to intentionally prepare to run the race He has set before us by learning to lead ourselves, in our homes, in our church, and in our work and world. We can drift into uncritical living which keeps us from our task. But, despite the battle against indwelling sin, Christ can and does offer hope through the gospel to be the leaders He has called us to be.
Speaker: Shamus Drake, Lead Pastor, Providence Church, Helotes, Texas
Shamus came to know Jesus at a youth camp in 1998 after growing up in the church. He and his high school sweetheart, now wife, Danalinn, married in 2004 and have four children. Shamus has served in vocational ministry since 2007, and went to school at the University of Alabama and most recently earned a Ph.D. from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He currently serves as the Lead Pastor at Providence Church in San Antonio, which he helped launch in 2025.
