Excellent topic! Spiritual pride is an ongoing battle for me… I appreciated your guys thoughts and input. I was struck this week while reading through 1 Corinthians 13 and 14 which I believe Murray also referenced, is that our gifting is just that, a gift and it is to be used to edify the body of believers. I’m going to look up a couple verses that struck me as particularly relevant this week: 1 Corinthians 13:2-3 NASB
If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. [3] And if I give all my possessions to feed the poor, and if I surrender my body to be burned, but do not have love, it profits me nothing.

- ‘nothing’ is a strong word.

It always goes back to a Godly love, a love for the church body and love for others. I find that when I can get my mind off my self and onto others, I can be much more useful.
