KBC Pastoral staff, your discussion on today’s (June 5) podcast had me all ears. Although the recitation of “loathed” phrases nearly had me grinding my teeth! My thought for why some have not returned to church is the flesh is quite adaptive to forming new habits, patterns, and behaviors. Three months is more than enough time to have accomplished that, be comfortable with it, and have rationalized that it’s fine w/God and He understands. Worship, prayer, giving, fellowship, service are all disciplines that we must tenaciously persevere and pursue. The flesh gets lazy. True righteousness is rigorous discipleship and not allowing my flesh to rule. Additionally, God made us for relationship....with Him and fellow believers. None of that is fulfilled by staying at home and listening on-line. May those who need a little extra encouragement hear this conversation and be assured they are an important, vital member of the body whom you long to reunite, worship, and fellowship with once again. Blessings to you, KBC ✝️

I listened to this Monday morning June 8 I appreciate the frank discussion. It seemed to me the church had less attendance than last week. As we know there was a death announced in the paper last week. This fear seems to have a grip on people and is driven home 24/7 by the media and even our local Kerrville paper. A couple of weeks ago the front page of the Kerrville paper had on one side an article about Opening Up the summer camps. On the other side was an article about Stay Home - you don’t want to get the virus! One of my memory verses is Proverbs 3:5-6: Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him and he will direct your paths. Let’s trust in the Lord to bring our whole church body together again.
